PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project consisted of designing a website to host 30 artist films for screening at a private event for industry viewing, before then becoming a public site. This included building the branding for the event; logos, colour schemes, typography etc.
The clients told me they wanted a minimalist design for the site, but granted me full creative control over the direction and outcome of the project.

LOGO DESIGN
Weekly meetings were held with the Co-ordinators and Sponsors where critique was given on how to improve the graphic design of the logo. The top row is of initial mockups and the bottom row showcases the final logo design; the black version for website and digital media/communications and the white for printing purposes.

DEFINING THE PROBLEMS
1. No menu bar - this impacted the navigation of the site and made it much less functional to the user.
2. Homepage carousel was tweaked upon client feedback which drastically improved the overall feel and accessibility of the page. Carousel arrows were in easy reach of the thumb zone.

DESIGNING SOLUTIONS
Simple design triumphed in its effectiveness:
1. Vertical menu appeared 'clunky' and so was swapped to a horizontal one.
2. Buttons were edited in order to improve user navigation;
different colours indicated actions of unclicked > hover > clicked, which gave a much more intuitive feel to the site.

FINAL UI
The published site features multiple ways of accessing individual artist pages whilst maintaining easy access back to the homepage.
Colour scheme of buttons helps with clear and easy navigation of site; user is able to easily tell which buttons have been hovered over or pressed.
